This year’s Speaker was Rev. Dr. Gloria White Hammond who called upon all of us to be like Dr King and step out in faith, step up and be courageous and step forward and do what God has called us to be. The Archdiocese of Boston Black Catholic Choir, directed by Meyer Chambers,  helped us to pray through song by singing songs such as Precious Lord, Take My Hand,” which is one of Dr. King’s favorite hymns.

Karme Menard, a parishioner of St. Angela Parish gave a beautiful reading from an excerpt of Dr. Kings “ I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech. An excellent breakfast was prepared for everyone by Lorraine “ Ma” Smith and Beth Chambers. Thanks to Jacki Townes, we had a little bit of trivia as well.
