On the weekend of October 18-19th, hundreds of Brazilians gathered in St. Anthony’s Parish in Allston, MA for prayer and worship. This year was the 9th ACLAMAI, an event with the goal to renew and strengthen the faith of participants through talks, hours of prayers and Eucharistic adoration and praise and worship. The weekend kicked off with a lively praise and worship moment which was followed by talks and Eucharistic Adoration. The event featured talks by Rodrigo Ferreira, a well-known Catholic missionary and musician from Brazil, as well as Fr. Roger Luis from a Catholic community in Brazil called Cancao Nova.

During the weekend participants had the opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation by priests from different communities of the Brazilian Apostolate. Fr. Eduardo Marques (Immaculate Conception, Stoughton),  Fr. Francisco Silva (St. Anthony, Allston), Fr. Adriano  of Milford, Fr. John Devin and Fr. Michael Harrington (Director of the Office of Outreach and Cultural Diversity) participated in this weekend-long spiritual weekend.

It is hard to put into words what really happened at Aclamai. As stated by Rodrigo Ferreira, “there were so many wonderful things and blessings, so many hearts were touched and families were restored, that all we have left to say with a thankful heart is: Praise God for his manifested power!”
