On the weekend of October 24-26th, 2014, the Youth Pastoral of the Brazilian Apostolate hosted its 14th consecutive C.O.R (Course of Religious Orientation) Retreat for youth and young adults. This year’s theme was: “To be a true Christian, you must have Faith in Action”.  Over 70 youth and young adults, ages 15-30, spent the weekend renewing their Catholic faith in this retreat which was held at the Daughters of St. Paul Retreat House in Billerica, MA.

Through the course of the weekend, participants of the retreat listened to various talks, spent time in small groups (named after saints), shared many laughs with various skits and most importantly, praised and worshiped the Lord. Everyone, danced, laughed, learned, and in communion, as brothers and sisters in Christ, spent two hours in front of the Blessed Sacrament on a Saturday night during Eucharistic Adoration. It was truly a memorable moment for all of those present.

The success of the retreat was a result of the hard work of many volunteers from different Brazilian communities, great talks by various speakers including Fr. Matt Williams, director of the Office of New Evangelization for Youth and Young Adults and Sinisa Ubiparipovic, a seminarian at  St. John’s Seminary, and the support of some priests serving different Brazilian communities, Sr. Liria and other Pauline sisters as well as Fr. Michael Harrington, director of the Office of Outreach and Cultural Diversity.

On Sunday afternoon, many participants shared the experience they had with God on the retreat and sealed the weekend with a special Mass celebrated by Fr. John Devin. Their parents and loved ones were invited for the Mass and a heartwarming reunion followed the end of the Mass.
